Q&A with Anto Neosoul: A Journey of Self-Discovery and Empowerment ¶
Published on January 6, 2020
Anto Neosoul, a talented singer, songwriter, actor, and radio presenter, has made a name for himself in the entertainment industry. Born Antony Mwangi, he has been vocal about his unconventional upbringing and the challenges he faced growing up in the slums of Kawangware.
Neosoul's journey to success began at a young age, when he performed for former President Moi and Cardinal Maurice Otunga at the age of nine. He later studied journalism at university, which played a critical role in his career.
When asked about what makes him special, Neosoul humbly replied, 'I do not think I am special, by thinking so, I would walk around demanding respect for the same!' Instead, he attributes his success to his determination to meet his destiny one step at a time.
Neosoul's advice to young people is to work on themselves, stop comparing themselves to others, and believe in their own potential. He emphasizes the importance of kindness, saying, 'Be kind, you never know who that person will turn out to be tomorrow and how their position could change your life forever.'
With a career spanning multiple industries, Neosoul has achieved numerous milestones, including releasing his most popular song 'Chips Funga' and starring in the film 'Shuga.' He has also been a part of the original judges for Talanta Mtaani and has lectured in over five universities.
Despite his success, Neosoul remains humble, saying, 'I am not successful as most young people like to think of me. Success shouldn't be personal; it must be equated to lives transformed because of the power and will of who one is in society!'
