On Sunday, the seventh leg of the 2019/2020 Safari Tour golf series kicked off at the Thika Greens Golf Resort, with Greg Snow taking a two-shot lead after the first round.
Snow, a member of Muthaiga Golf Club, rolled in a total of seven birdies against two bogeys, for an impressive five under par 67.
He started his birdie collection from the second hole and continued to impress throughout the round, closing the front nine with a bogey at the ninth before his bogey-free back nine which included birdies at the 10th, 13th and at the home green.
This gave him a two-shot lead from Justus Madoya, who made a late bogey at the 16th, having collected birdies at the second, fourth and fifth and one at the 13th for three under par 69.
Thika Sports Club's Simon Ngige, Tony Omuli from the Golf Park, and Vet Lab Sports Club's Mathew Omondi were the chasing group on two under par 70 each.
Monday's round will determine the top 20 players who will go for the money.
