January 5, 2020, marked a significant departure for Whyvonne Isuza, a Harambee Stars midfielder, as he left cash-strapped AFC Leopards for Wazito.
Isuza was unveiled as a Wazito player on Sunday, reuniting him with English coach Stewart Hall, who previously worked together at AFC Leopards in 2016.
According to sources, Isuza signed a two-year contract reportedly worth Sh4 million in salaries and bonuses.
Wazito's Chief Executive Dennis Gicheru expressed his excitement about Isuza's addition, stating, “Isuza is a national team player and he is definitely a good addition to the team. The technical bench recommended his signing because they understand his abilities and we are glad that he agreed to join us. His addition makes us stronger,”
Isuza's departure from AFC Leopards comes as the club struggles to pay its players, with some not receiving their salaries for four months.
Wazito, on the other hand, has been actively seeking reinforcements to secure safety in the top-flight football competition, having recently promoted to the Kenyan Premier League.
