On January 5, 2020, gospel artist Bahati celebrated his 27th birthday with a champagne toast, leaving many wondering if a Christian can truly enjoy bubbly.

According to sources, Bahati's wife, Diana Marua, had ordered a champagne bottle, which Bahati struggled to pop, claiming it was non-alcoholic.

However, in a video that surfaced, Bahati was seen enjoying the champagne, saying, 'Kumbe hivi ndivo mtu anaskianga? WHEN I drink from the bottle I feel the way my friends Jaguar and Diamond feel. The only difference is mine is LIKE holy Communion since it's non-alcoholic.'

While Bahati's actions sparked debate, some questioned whether it's acceptable for Christians to pop champagne, or if they should stick to soft drinks.

As the saying goes, 'better the devil (soft drink) you know than the angel (champagne) you don't.'
