Kenyan international Johanna Omolo has been making headlines in recent years for his impressive football skills and community work. In 2019, he scored crucial goals for Harambee Stars in AFCON 2019 and the 2021 qualifiers, earning him a feature on The Players Tribune, a leading sports website. He also won the FIFPRO Merit Award for his outstanding community work through the Johanna Omolo Foundation.
On a personal note, Omolo has started the year 2020 on a romantic note by proposing to his long-term fiancée Gladys Mumbi in the city of love, Paris. The proposal was a nerve-wracking experience for the former Dandora Youth midfielder, who admitted that he was nervous as he went down on his knees to propose to the love of his life.
Omolo, who is known to be a private and reserved person, has been living with his fiancée in Brugge, Belgium, where they are blessed with a daughter. The couple's joy was evident on social media, with Omolo's fiancée posting a photo of the ring with the caption; '2020 couldn’t have started any better than this…'
Omolo has been playing professionally in Belgium since 2007 and currently features for Cercle Brugge, a team co-owned by French giants AS Monaco.
