On January 11, 2019, the 15th edition of the Soya awards held at Fort Jesus in Mombasa saw Mohamed Kheri display the Hall of Fame trophy, a testament to the rich football history in the region.

Fast forward to a few years later, on a day in 2019, former Harambee Stars players, football administrators, and politicians assembled at Mombasa Sports Club in honour of Mombasa-based football legend Mohammed Madigi. The colourful event dubbed 'Madigi Testimonial match' featured three matches for Under 15 between Bilima and Mombasa Sports Club, Wananyuki against Congo Boys, and then Mombasa Sports Club against former Harambee stars players.

The team of former Harambee Stars players included Mohammed Kheri, Ali Mbarak, Babu Rajab, Khamis Musa, Edward Oduor, Shakir Mohammed, and former FIFA referee Khamis Bagazal. Other notable players in the team were Douglas Mutua, Wycliffe Anyangu, Dan Ogada, Ali Jeneby, and Robert Mambo.
