US President Donald Trump has made his first substantial comments on the assassination of Iranian military commander Qasem Soleimani, who was killed in a US strike at Baghdad's international airport on January 3, 2020.
According to a tweet posted by Trump on the same day, Soleimani 'should have been taken out many years ago!'
Trump further stated that Soleimani 'has killed or badly wounded thousands of Americans over an extended period of time, and was plotting to kill many more...but got caught!'
