Nairobi Women Representative Esther Passaris has been recovering at the Care Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS) Hospital in Ahmedabad, India, following a successful spinal operation.
According to her Twitter post on January 3, 2020, Passaris flew into India on December 31, 2019, and underwent the surgery the following day.
She expressed gratitude to God, her family, and those who prayed for her during the procedure, saying, 'I flew to Ahmedabad, India on 31st December, 2019 and successfully had Spinal Surgery the following day at CIMS Hospital. I thank God for the Gift of Life, my family for their unconditional love and everyone who whispered a word of prayer as I went in.'
This is the third time in 13 months that Passaris has been hospitalized for surgery, with the previous instances being in September 2019 and an earlier back surgery 20 years ago.
