On January 2, 2020, a member of the public in Embakasi, Nairobi, reported a suspect found with items believed to be used as exhibits in a fraud case against Solai Dam directors.
Following a custodial order obtained by Chief Inspector Anderson Miriti at Makadara Law Courts, the suspect was taken into custody at Embakasi Police Station pending further investigations.
According to Miriti, the suspect and others allegedly forged a title deed, registered Garvas Company Limited, and sold land belonging to businessman Muhamed Mathubuti using the forged document.
Two directors of the company have been charged with conspiracy to defraud after forging a title deed for a 10-acre piece of land belonging to Mathubuti.
Investigators plan to visit the suspect's home in Chavakali, Vihinga County, to recover evidence related to the case.
During an interview with the suspect, he revealed crucial information about the case, and there is a possibility he may be treated as a state witness and placed under witness protection due to the sensitive nature of the case.
