Nakuru Burglars Sentenced to Two Years in Prison for Stealing Maize and Clothing

On January 3, 2020, a court in Nakuru handed down a two-year prison sentence to two burglars, Alex Kemboi and Jose Loreng, for their roles in a string of thefts.

The sentence was meted out after the two suspects confessed to the crimes, citing hunger as the motivation behind their actions.

According to court records, Kemboi and Loreng were accused of breaking into the stall of Margret Muithereo and stealing two sacks of maize worth Ksh. 5,000.

They were also charged with breaking into the house of Musa Muyiya and stealing a bag containing a pair of trousers and a vest worth Ksh. 1,050.

Chief Magistrate Bernard Mararo presided over the case.
