On January 3, 2020, Kenyan international Eric Johana Omondi made a significant move in his football career by joining Swedish second-tier Jönköpings Södra IF on a two-year deal from IF Brommapojkarna.

Having spent three seasons in Sweden, Omondi initially joined lower-tier side Vasalunds before moving to Brommapojkarna. He expressed his gratitude to the Brommapojkarna fraternity and stated his readiness for the new challenge.

"It feels fantastic! I've been waiting for this moment. It feels good to move to a new city and a new club. I want to develop as much as possible as a player and that is the main reason I have joined this club. This is also a club with a lot of history and which should be in the top league," he told the club's portal during his unveiling on Friday.

Founded in 1922, Jönköpings Södra IF was relegated to the second-tier at the end of the 2017 season and hosts their matches at the Stadsparksvallen, a classic sports facility located in the city of Jönköping, Sweden.
