As of December 31, 2019, WhatsApp will no longer support Windows Phone operating systems.
Additionally, the app will stop functioning on Android versions 2.3.7 and older as of February 1, 2020, and on iPhone iOS 7 and older also as of February 1, 2020.
Mark Zuckerberg's company has announced the end of support for these older operating systems, giving users a heads up to upgrade their phones.
