Published on January 3, 2020, by THUO ANTHONY on Facebook, this post highlights the five reasons why the author will never use KQ's direct flight to and from the US again.

Reasons to Avoid KQ's Direct Flight

Firstly, unless you live in New York, be aware that KQ's direct flight is not as convenient as it seems. The hassle of moving from gate to gate at JFK can be more exhausting than the time and money saved by flying direct.

Here are the five reasons to reconsider using KQ's direct flight:

  • Check-in issues: KQ002 from Nairobi to JFK-NY has only one dedicated check-in stand, which can lead to long wait times.
  • Unhonored advance requests: The author's request for an infant bassinet was ignored, and they were lucky to find an alternative passenger who swapped seats with them.
  • Luggage left behind: The author's seven checked bags were left at the point of departure, with only four arriving in New York and none making it to Boston with them.
  • Luggage damage: Four of the author's checked bags were heavily damaged, requiring replacement.
  • Flight attendant's mistake: The flight attendant wished the author a happy 2022 instead of 2020, highlighting a possible lack of attention to detail.

On the other hand, the crew is amazing and professional, making the long trip more bearable. The bathrooms are also clean and well-stocked, and the flight attendants make announcements in Swahili, adding a touch of local culture to the experience.
