Published on January 3, 2020, tech giants Vivo, Oppo, and Xiaomi have announced a groundbreaking partnership to bring an innovative wireless file transfer system to their customers worldwide.
The alliance, which enables peer-to-peer transmission, allows for a seamless file transfer experience without the need for an internet connection.
Users can transfer files using Bluetooth for fast pairing and WiFi P2P technology for data transfer, resulting in an instant, stable, and high-speed connection between devices.
According to a press release by Vivo, the Alliance aims to drive the next generation of mobile experience, with the three brands collaborating to deliver new technological breakthroughs.
Spark Ni, Senior Vice President for Vivo, stated, “Vivo, OPPO and Xiaomi share a strong user base. Such a partnership will benefit even more consumers globally. For Vivo, this partnership reinforces our commitment to bringing a fast, secure, first-in-class mobile experience. By making it even easier for our users to share files with their friends wirelessly. We will continue to bring more strategic partnerships like this for our users across the globe,”
The mobile technology system is set to roll out in February, with the brands focusing on winning more brands into the partnership.
Notably, Apple introduced a similar application, AirDrop, in September 2019, which uses Bluetooth to create a peer-to-peer Wi-Fi network between devices, sending files encrypted for added security.
