January 3, 2020, marked a crucial day in the Premier League as Chelsea drew 1-1 against Brighton, with Christian Pulisic missing three gilt-edged chances.

As the 21-year-old United States captain reflected on the game, he acknowledged that Chelsea's lack of accuracy when chances arise is a major concern.

"We said at half-time that we had the chance to kill the game and we just weren't able to," Pulisic said, highlighting the team's inability to capitalize on their opportunities.

With Chelsea sitting fourth in the table, a five-point advantage over Manchester United, and Spurs and Wolverhampton Wanderers a further point adrift, the pressure is on to improve their finishing.

Pulisic, who has scored five times in his first season with Chelsea since his £58 million transfer from Borussia Dortmund, emphasized the need for his team to develop a killer instinct.

"We couldn't get the goal and in the end they found an unbelievable goal," he said, referencing the opponent's late equalizer.

"So now it is about doing a bit more to keep going, attack and create chances and just have that killer instinct. Just a little bit of that, we are missing that," Pulisic added, taking responsibility for his own performance.

As Chelsea looks to improve their chances of securing a Champions League spot, Pulisic's words serve as a reminder of the importance of clinical finishing.
