Kirinyaga: Man's Desperate Bid to End Life in Hospital

On January 2, 2020, a tragic incident unfolded at Kerugoya Referral Hospital in Kirinyaga, where a 40-year-old man, Solomon Murage Kaburi, ultimately succumbed to his struggles with life.

According to Kirinyaga Central OCPD Doreen Oduor, the deceased had attempted to take his own life at home by chopping off his left hand. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he managed to hang himself in the toilet using a medical intravenous giving set.

It is reported that the man had also attempted to detach the reattached hand, highlighting the depth of his despair.

His elder sister revealed that he appeared disturbed before the incident, but the exact reasons behind his actions remain unclear.

The body was subsequently moved to the Kerugoya Referral Hospital mortuary.
