Published on January 2, 2020, Nairobi News reported that former AFC Leopards midfielder Vincent Habamahoro was terminating his contract with the Kenyan Premier League side due to a pay-dispute.
He had gone four months without pay, prompting him to return to his native Rwanda.
Now, it appears Habamahoro has negotiated his way into a new job with Rwandan club Kiyovu Sports.
“Negotiations are complete and we were just waiting for the transfer window to officially open. He (Habamahoro) will probably sign the new deal before Friday,” a source familiar with the deal told Nairobi News.
Kiyovu Sports are currently ranked sixth on the 16-team Rwandan league standings.
Former Leopards teammate Tresor Ndikumana has also signed for Gasogi United in the Rwandan league, while Soter Kayumba and Ismailia Diarra have quit cash-strapped Leopards in the past month.
