On Wednesday, the Football Kenya Federation opened the transfer window for the Women's Premier League and Division One Leagues, marking a significant milestone in the upcoming season.

As part of the changes, Kahawa Queens, Nakuru Queens, and SEP Oyugis earned promotion to the top tier, replacing Nyuki Starlets, Vihiga Leeds, and Spedag.

Notably, Vihiga Queens emerged as champions for the third time, securing a total of 79 points.

According to Joseph Mwanza, coach of Kahawa Queens, the team is eager to face off against top-tier teams and test their skills.

"We can’t wait to meet teams that have dominated the league for years and see how we can match up to them," Mwanza said.

The registration period for the Women's Premier League will close on January 14, while Division One league will close on January 28. All transfers and registration processes will be conducted electronically through the DTMS and the online registration platform, Kenya connect.

The 2020 Women's Premier League season is set to kick off on February 22, with the Division One league commencing on March 7.
