Kenya: Miguna Miguna Mourns Loss of Father-in-Law

On January 2, 2020, exiled lawyer Miguna Miguna suffered a personal loss, announcing the sudden passing of his father-in-law, Mzee Benson Omolo Awange, in Migori Town.

According to Miguna's Twitter post, Mzee Omollo passed away at around 12:30 a.m. on that day, leaving behind a family that includes Miguna's mother-in-law, wife Jane, and their children.

Miguna expressed his heartfelt condolences to his family, writing, "Mourning my father in-law Mzee Benson Omolo Awange who passed suddenly in Migori Town, at around 12:30a.m on January 2, 2020. My heart-felt condolences to my mother in law, wife, Jane and Eunice, Ochieng, Gwayo, Judy and Awour. May your soul Rest in Eternal Peace,"

At the time of Mzee Omollo's passing, Miguna was planning his return to Kenya after a two-year forced exile in Canada. President Uhuru Kenyatta had recently hinted that Miguna would be allowed to return to the country to exercise his freedom of speech.
