On January 1, 2020, Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti was spotted in the stands at the Emirates Stadium as Arsenal secured a 2-0 victory over Manchester United.
Umtiti, who was on a winter holiday in London, was among the sell-out crowd that witnessed goals from Nicolas Pepe and Sokratis.
The match marked Mikel Arteta's first win as Arsenal manager, and the Gunners began the new decade with a winning touch.
Umtiti's appearance at the Emirates has sparked transfer speculation, with Arsenal reportedly eyeing a new centre-half.
However, it appears that Umtiti will not be joining the club this month, as he merely attended the match as part of his winter break.
Umtiti had been in the capital to see in the New Year and took in the day's big Premier League football match during his visit.
Barcelona are currently on their winter break and do not return to La Liga action until Saturday, when they travel to Espanyol in the derby.
Umtiti is expected to play from the start of the match for Barcelona.
Speaking of his future plans, Umtiti had previously expressed interest in a move back to his former club Lyon, saying: "I'd like to be a coach. I take notes from those I've worked under, their training sessions and what they do. Returning to Lyon is a possibility, as a player or as a coach."
