As Kenyans ushered in the New Year 2020, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen chose a unique way to celebrate - by spending time with his father and looking after cows in their village.
On January 1, 2020, the Senator shared photos on his Facebook page of himself and his father, Reverend Johana Murkomen Kanda, tending to their cattle in the scenic hills of Kerio Valley.
"New Year in the village with dad," Murkomen captioned the post, which excited netizens on social media.
It's not every day that one gets to see a senator taking a break from politics to engage in rural activities. Murkomen's decision to spend his New Year's Day in such a way has sparked conversations on social media.
