On what would have been Chris Msando's 47th birthday, his former colleague Roselyn Akombe made a stunning revelation about his death in 2017.
Akombe, a former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioner, claimed that Msando was killed for attempting to protect the integrity of the 2017 general election.
Msando, the ICT manager at IEBC at the time of his death, was found murdered in a thicket on the outskirts of Nairobi alongside a woman identified as Carol Ngumbu.
Despite his killers never being brought to book, Msando's family has continued to demand justice from the government.
Akombe made the claims on her social media account, sharing a poem that attempted to explain why Msando was 'silenced.'
She wrote: “He should have turned 47 today; He should have been celebrating with his children and wife; Ready for the New Year celebrations; And a new school year for his kids; But he sought to protect the integrity of our elections; And for that he was silenced.”
