On December 7, the Victor Wanyama Foundation announced that it had selected six students to receive secondary school scholarships.
The students were chosen from 48 applicants after a careful vetting process based on merit and need.
The scholarship will cover tuition fees, boarding, and related expenses for the four-year period.
The students, Eva Basweti Moraa, Kyule Daniel Kitusa, Omondi Tamara Zawadi, Adhiya Sammy Oriko, Makokha Lamech, and Tirzah Shem, will attend Sironga Girls High School, Nanyuki High School, St Joseph Cheptiret, Maranda High School, and St Brigid Kitale respectively.
Victor Wanyama, the founder of the Foundation, congratulated the students and urged them to work hard and maintain discipline.
He promised to visit each of the students in their respective schools.
Wanyama was honoured with the Head of State Commendation from President Uhuru Kenyatta on December 20 for his outstanding work in the field of sport.
