Four KWS Officers Arrested for Robbery with Violence

On December 26, 2019, a group of relatives returning from a dowry function in Lodogojek area were violently robbed by four Kenya Wildlife Service officers based at Baawa KWS Station in Samburu.

The officers, Corporal James Lamata and Wardens Brian Kiplangat Dad Said and Peter Kirui, were arrested on Saturday and placed in custody pending arraignment in court to answer to charges of robbery with violence.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the victims were blocked by the armed officers on board a KWS Land Cruiser and robbed of Ksh. 9,500/- and other personal items.

After receiving the report and conducting an identification parade, detectives arrested the four suspects who had retreated to their station after the robbery.
