Published on December 29, 2019, Pastor Godfrey Migwi has been a familiar voice on Kameme FM, teaching Bible study for nearly nine years. He is also the founder of House of Hope Church in Kayole.
As a psychologist from Mount Kenya University and a religion and political analyst at BBC News Swahili Radio, Pastor Migwi brings a unique perspective to his work. He is known for his refreshing approach to faith and his commitment to spreading the message of Christ.
One of the most striking aspects of Pastor Migwi's ministry is his practice of baptizing new believers in rivers, rather than swimming pools. This practice, he says, is a nod to the tradition of Jesus Christ, who was baptized in the River Jordan by his cousin John.
'I baptise new believers in a flowing river following in the steps of Jesus Christ, who was baptised in River Jordan by his cousin John. I do it in any clean river in the country but not swimming pools as many churches do in Kenya,' he said in an interview with Mpasho.
Despite the challenges he faces, Pastor Migwi remains committed to his calling. He acknowledges that pastors are not immune to temptation and that they often face rejection and other difficulties. However, he also emphasizes the importance of staying true to one's faith and values.
