On a night that will be remembered for its drama and twists, Clemson's Trevor Lawrence orchestrated a thrilling comeback, guiding his team to a 29-23 victory over Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl on December 28, 2019.

The win secured Clemson's spot in the national championship game, where they will face top-ranked Louisiana State on January 13, 2020, in New Orleans.

Lawrence's heroics were capped off by a 34-yard touchdown run by Travis Etienne with 1:49 left on the clock, the third touchdown of the night for the running back.

The Buckeyes, who had taken a 16-0 lead in the second quarter, were left reeling from a series of costly penalties and injuries, including the ejection of starting cornerback Shaun Wade for targeting and the loss of running back J.K. Dobbins to an ankle injury.

Ohio State Coach Ryan Day was furious with the officiating crew, shouting an expletive and being backed up by a chorus of boos from the Buckeyes' fans.

Despite the setbacks, the Buckeyes still had opportunities to take the lead, but ultimately fell short, leaving Clemson to celebrate their hard-fought victory.
