Kenyan-born lawyer Miguna Miguna is making a second attempt to return to his motherland after a tumultuous first try in March 2018.

On December 28th, 2019, Miguna shared a photo of his air ticket on Twitter, captioning it: “Because Justice delayed is justice denied. Viva!”

According to the ticket, Miguna will land in Nairobi aboard a Lufthansa Flight 590 on January 7th, 2020 at 21:25 hours.

His first attempt at returning to Kenya in March 2018 was unsuccessful, with Miguna being removed from the country after spending several hours at JKIA detention facility.

However, in December 2018, the High Court ruled that Miguna is a Kenyan by birth and holding a Canadian passport does not deny him his birthright.

Justice Chacha Mwita declared that the State violated Miguna's rights by deporting him and awarded him Sh7.2 million in compensation.
