On December 28, 2019, a Kenyan woman working in Iraq tragically passed away in a reported case of negligence by her agent.

Ruth Omungala, a domestic worker in Iraq for over a year, reportedly suffered physical abuse and malnutrition at the hands of her employer, which severely impacted her health.

Despite her deteriorating condition, Ruth's agent, identified as Ali, failed to provide her with adequate medical care, and her condition continued to worsen each day.

Her final request was to be flown back home, but Ali assured her that this would happen after Christmas, a promise that was never fulfilled.

According to her colleagues, Ruth complained of severe abdominal pains, and her condition took a turn for the worse on the day of her death, with her agent taking no action despite being informed of her severe vomiting.

A photo of Ruth in her final moments was shared in a WhatsApp group, highlighting the tragic circumstances surrounding her death.
