Ruth Omungala, a Kenyan domestic worker in Iraq, tragically passed away on Friday, December 27, 2019, in a reported case of negligence by her agent.
According to reports, Ruth had been working in Iraq for over a year and allegedly faced physical abuse and malnutrition from her employer, leading to a decline in her health.
Despite her deteriorating condition, Ruth's agent, identified as Ali, failed to provide her with adequate medical care, and her condition continued to worsen each day.
Ruth's final request was to be flown back home, but her agent assured her that this would happen after Christmas, a promise that was never fulfilled.
Her compatriots at the office reported that Ruth was complaining of severe abdominal pains and that her condition worsened significantly before her death.
A photo shared in a WhatsApp group showed Ruth in her final moments, highlighting the severity of her condition.
