On December 28, 2019, a Kenyan woman working in Iraq tragically passed away in a reported case of negligence by her agent.

Ruth Omungala, who had been working as a domestic worker in Iraq for over a year, allegedly suffered physical abuse and malnutrition at the hands of her employer, leading to a significant decline in her health, according to reports.

Despite her deteriorating condition, Ruth's agent, identified as Ali, failed to provide her with adequate medical care, and her condition continued to worsen each day.

Her final request was to be flown back home, but the agent told her this would happen after Christmas.

Compatriots at the office reported that Ruth was complaining of severe abdominal pains and her condition worsened on the day she died, despite her agent being informed of her severe vomiting.

A photo showing Ruth in her final moments was shared in a WhatsApp group.
