On Friday evening, a tragic incident unfolded at Runganga Village in Embu North Sub-county, where a 37-year-old man, identified as Charles Njeru, stabbed his brother's wife, Rosaline Kagendo, 50, to death.

According to Nembure Sub-location Assistant Chief Joseph Nyaga Njiru, the suspect attacked Kagendo at her house while she was preparing bananas for the Embu market on Saturday.

The motive behind the heinous act remains unclear, but it is reported that one of Kagendo's daughters heard her mother screaming and rushed into the house to find Njeru stabbing her.

The daughter then raised an alarm, attracting neighbours who took Kagendo to Embu Level Five Hospital, where she sadly passed away upon arrival.

Tragically, Njeru's body was later found hanging from a tree in a neighbouring village by local residents, and it was moved to the Embu Level Five Hospital mortuary.
