On December 28, 2019, Kaizer Chiefs reportedly renewed their interest in Kenyan international Anthony Akumu, nicknamed Viera. The 27-year-old player is a skilled central defensive midfielder and is currently on the books of Zambian champions ZESCO United.
According to reports, Chiefs are looking to strengthen their squad with a quality defensive midfielder during the upcoming January transfer window.
