On Saturday, detectives in Mombasa arrested two suspects, including a police constable, for allegedly abducting an official from a mobile service provider in Malindi on Friday afternoon.
The suspects, identified as Kelvin Komora, a GSU officer based in Baringo County, Grace Wairimu, and Omar Mwanguze, claimed the victim had taken a Sh500,000 loan from Wairimu but failed to repay it.
According to Anthony Muriithi, the Mombasa Urban Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the suspects were arrested after they drove themselves to the central police station, where they were apprehended.
“We have three suspects in custody including an officer. This is serious, how can a police officer engage in such incidences? We cannot tolerate, one has to go home,” Muriithi said.
The suspects are being held at the central police station pending investigations, with their motor vehicle seized. They are expected to be arraigned on Monday once investigations are completed.
