On Friday night, a violent ambush occurred near Houston, Texas, during the filming of a rap music video.

According to officials, two men were killed and at least seven others were wounded in the attack, which took place in a parking lot of an office park in the 500 block of Smart Street in Harris County, just north of Houston.

At approximately 9:30 p.m., a group of men were filming when shots were fired, said Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

“Basically they were ambushed, we believe by individuals in cars and or foot,” Sheriff Gonzalez stated at a news conference.

Two victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while others were taken to hospitals, with one victim in critical condition, as reported by Sheriff Gonzalez on Saturday morning.

The victims were described as Hispanic men in their 20s, and there may be additional victims who fled the scene before authorities arrived.

“This is a very serious situation,” Sheriff Gonzalez emphasized. “This is a residential neighborhood.”

He added that “a lot of shots were fired” and that the scene was extensive, stretching for several blocks.

At this time, investigators do not know the name of the group filming the video, and a motive for the shooting remains unclear, along with a description of the perpetrators and their vehicles.

“Anybody that was out here, they need to speak up,” Sheriff Gonzalez urged. “We need to be able to resolve this. We need some leads right now.”
