December 28, 2019, marked a significant day for Gor Mahia forward Dickson Ambundo, as he reportedly expressed his desire to leave the Kenyan champions.

Ambundo, who joined Gor Mahia from Tanzanian side Alliance in August, has been a key player for the team, scoring 12 league goals in Tanzania last season.

However, his impressive displays have not been enough to keep him at the club, as he is now keen to return home to Tanzania, with top club Young Africans (Yanga) reportedly keen on his services.

The right-winger is owed three months in salary arrears by Gor Mahia, which has left him unsettled in Nairobi.

According to football laws, any player can leave a club if they have not been paid their salary for two consecutive months, a situation that Ambundo finds himself in.

His potential departure would be a significant blow to Gor Mahia, which has already lost midfielder Kenneth Muguna to the exit rumors.
