On December 27, 2019, a tragic incident occurred in Kibugua village, Embu County, where a 40-year-old woman was found dead in her rental house.
The victim, Felister Wangari Njeru, was allegedly killed by her husband, Kinyua Njoka, a recently released ex-convict.
According to Embu North OCPD Godfrey Kere, the suspect visited his wife in an attempt to reconcile, but the situation turned violent.
Police believe that the reconciliation turned into a fight, and the suspect then killed his wife and fled the scene.
The victim's daughter discovered her unconscious in the house and raised an alarm, prompting her neighbors to rush her to Embu Level Five Hospital.
Unfortunately, the woman was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police have launched a manhunt for Kinyua, who the victim's daughter claims was unaware that he had been released from jail.
