On Christmas Day, police in Kasarani arrested Rhoda Zennah Mwita, a woman accused of stealing Sh210,000 from her employer in Githurai.
According to police constable Peter Githendu, Mwita was found with Sh31,200, which is believed to be part of the stolen cash.
The money was allegedly transferred to Mwita's relatives and friends before she escaped on December 23.
Police recovered several items used at the shop, including newly bought salon accessories, which are believed to be proceeds of crime.
Mwita will be held at the station until next Wednesday after Githendu sought orders from the Makadara law courts to hold her pending investigations.
