Published on December 28, 2019, a dramatic incident unfolded in Mombasa when Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives apprehended a GSU officer and two civilians for abducting a 36-year-old Safaricom employee.

The victim, who works in Malindi, had allegedly taken a 500,000 shillings loan from one of her abductors, Ms. Grace Wairimu, but failed to meet the agreed repayment deadline.

According to the DCI, the three perpetrators, including Constable Kelvin Komora, a GSU officer, and Mr. Omar Mwanguze, ambushed and forced the victim into a private car before driving off from Malindi.

However, upon receiving the report of a possible abduction, the DCI detectives made hot pursuit of the Nissan motor vehicle and cornered the perpetrators, who then drove into Central Police station, Mombasa.

The victim was rescued, and the three perpetrators were placed in custody as further investigations continue.
