Patrick Kibe's Inspiring Journey ¶
Published on December 28, 2019
Patrick Kibe's journey from a cleaner at Kijabe Hospital to a renowned eye surgeon is a true inspiration to many. Born with a desire to become a pastor, Kibe's life took a dramatic turn when he moved to Kijabe to join a Bible school in 1990. However, fate had other plans, and he did not join the school.
Undeterred, Kibe joined Kijabe Hospital as a cleaner to earn a living. His diligence and hard work did not go unnoticed, and he was promoted to a storekeeper six months later. While working in the store, Kibe's passion for his work was spotted by the doctors, who urged him to join Kijabe School of Nursing in 1993.
After completing his studies, Kibe was sent to Kajiado, where he single-handedly ran a dispensary. This marked the beginning of a promising career, which would eventually lead him to become an eye surgeon. Kibe's passion and curiosity drove him to various medical schools in East Africa, where he graduated with a specialization in eye surgery from Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Clinic.
Today, Kibe is the head of the diabetic and optic department at Kijabe Hospital, where he performs eye procedures and treats diabetic conditions. His remarkable journey is a testament to the power of resilience, hard work, and passion.
"There is no limit to what you want to be," Kibe said in an interview.
As Kibe's story shows, with determination and hard work, anything is possible.
