Justice Otieno Odek Laid to Rest in Siaya ¶
On December 27, 2019, a funeral was held in Siaya, Kenya, to lay to rest Justice Otieno Odek, a respected judge who had passed away on December 16, 2019.
According to reports, Odek was found dead in his home in Kisumu, with police officers discovering his body after he failed to appear in court. An autopsy later revealed that he had died from a heart attack caused by blood clotting in his leg.
The funeral was attended by prominent politicians, including Chief Justice David Maraga, Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu, and ODM leader Raila Odinga. The dignitaries praised Odek for his integrity and dedication to his work, expressing their sadness at his untimely death.
Chief Justice David Maraga was among those who eulogized Odek, describing him as a man of great character and integrity. Raila Odinga also paid tribute to Odek, saying that his death had left a huge gap in the country.
Justice Otieno Odek was laid to rest in his home village of Asembo, Siaya County, surrounded by his family and friends.
