On Friday, a tragic incident occurred at Kibugua village in Ngadori, Embu County, where a 40-year-old woman was allegedly hacked to death by her husband.
The victim, Felister Wangari Njeru, had been identified by her embattled husband, Kinyua Njoka, who was recently released from prison.
According to Embu North OCPD Godfrey Kere, the couple had been separated earlier, but the husband visited his wife at her rented house in an attempt to reconcile.
However, the reconciliation efforts ended in a fight, and the husband is suspected to have killed his wife before fleeing the scene.
A manhunt has since been launched for the suspect, and the deceased's daughter, Madrin Wangari, has called on the police to expedite investigations.
She also revealed that their father had been in jail and that they had no idea how or when he was released.
The victim was rushed to the Embu Level Five Hospital by neighbours but was pronounced dead on arrival due to the severe injuries she had sustained.
