December 27, 2019, marked a day of intense anger and frustration for Kenyans as they took to social media to express their outrage against the Kenya Navy. The reason behind this fury was a harrowing tale of four fishermen who were lost in the deep sea for 17 days.
According to the fishermen, on the 9th day of their ordeal, they spotted a team of navy soldiers patrolling the sea and desperately asked for help, including water to quench their thirst. However, the navy allegedly refused to assist them, leaving the fishermen to fend for themselves.
It was only after their boat drifted to the shores of Ngomeni village that the fishermen were rescued by the villagers. Their story, which was first shared on Citizen TV, sparked a wave of angry reactions, making the Kenya Navy a trending topic on social media.
