On December 27, 2019, Sofapaka, the 2009 Kenya Premier League champions, completed the signing of Ugandan goalkeeper Nicholas Sebwato from Bright Stars FC.
Sebwato, who previously played for SC Villa and Onduparaka FC, was snapped up by Bright Stars FC before joining Sofapaka.
As part of their efforts to strengthen their team and continue pushing for the league title in the 2019/20 season, Sofapaka has also released several players, including strikers Phillip Muchuma, Juma Collins, Derrick Wafula, and Timonah Wanyonyi, as well as defender Musa Malunda.
With 21 points after 13 matches, Sofapaka is currently 8th on the KPL Log, 7 points behind leaders Gor Mahia.
The team will begin the New Year with a clash against Kariobangi Sharks at the Machakos County Stadium on January 4.
