A woman's life was cut short in a tragic incident at Ol Arabei forest, where she was trampled to death by an elephant on December 26, 2019.
According to the Kenya Wildlife Service, the 36-year-old victim, Stella Chebii, had gone to look for her stray livestock in the forest when she was attacked by the elephant.
Her body was taken to the Nyahururu hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination.
Kenya Wildlife Service has since mobilized animal control teams to monitor elephant movement in the area, which has experienced an influx of elephants in recent times.
Just three weeks prior to this incident, a middle-aged man was mauled by a lion that strayed from the Nairobi National Park.
