Andrea Lentaaya, Caleb Loisula, and Mwangi Muhoro, who hail from Baawa village in Samburu central sub-county, held a thanksgiving ceremony to express their gratitude to their benefactors.
Andrea Lentaaya, a student at Maseno School, has been fortunate to have received assistance from various donors and benefactors throughout his academic journey. However, he is now appealing for sponsorship to pursue further studies in Aeronautical Engineering.
Speaking during the thanksgiving ceremony, Andrea Lentaaya expressed his desire to become an Aeronautical Engineer and appealed to well-wishers to sponsor his education.
His father, Robert Lentaaya, acknowledged the financial challenges they face and called upon pastoralist communities to invest in the education of their children as a means of lifting the community out of poverty.
Andrea Lentaaya's journey began when he scored 401 marks in the KCPE Examination in 2015 at Bukiwa Primary School in Samburu County. He initially expressed a desire to become a pilot, but now aspires to become an Aeronautical Engineer.
‘Today I just want to be an Aeronautical Engineer, I want when I complete my studies, I should come back to Samburu and help more young people from my community to get an opportunity to study,' he said.
Samburu County is one of the Arid and Semi-Arid regions in the country where livestock rearing is the main economic activity. However, this activity is heavily dependent on weather conditions, which can lead to droughts and reduced livestock prices.
