On Christmas Day, a disturbing incident unfolded in Nguka location, Kirinyaga county, where a 30-year-old man allegedly forced a two-year-old boy to drink alcohol.
According to reports, the news of the incident spread quickly through the village, prompting the area chief, Mr. David Muriithi, to order the immediate arrest of the suspect, identified as Marcus Kinyua.
Worried family members rushed the child to hospital, fearing for his health, and demanded the suspect's arrest.
The suspect is currently being held at the Nguka Police Post, awaiting arraignment in court.
The area chief has blamed the Kirinyaga County Government for the incident, citing the licensing of bars in the village as a contributing factor.
“There are bars everywhere in the village. Even the boy’s father has a bar, and the man took advantage of that and forced the baby to drink the beer. The boy was completely drunk,” said the chief.
