Hertha Berlin's pursuit of Victor Wanyama has taken an unexpected turn, with reports emerging that the German club has decided to sign Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka.
Wanyama's move to Hertha Berlin has been in the works for some time, but the situation has changed in recent hours, with Hertha manager Jurgen Klinsman reportedly prioritizing Xhaka over the Kenyan midfielder.
According to Xhaka's agent, Jose Noguera, the Swiss midfielder has agreed on terms with Hertha Berlin and is set to make the move to the German club.
"Look, I will say it frankly and honestly, we are in agreement with Hertha Berlin and would like to go to Berlin. We have told Arsenal boss Raul Sanllehi and sporting director Edu Gasper as well as the new coach Mikel Arteta," Noguera said.
Wanyama, who has struggled for playing time at Tottenham in recent seasons, has made just four appearances for the club this season and has been linked with moves to several other teams, including clubs in Belgium, Italy, and China.
