December 27, 2019, marked a tragic day in Shikokwe village, Malava, Kakamega County, as a six-month-old baby lost its life in a shocking incident involving a chicken.
The infant's mother was holding her baby when the chicken suddenly attacked, allegedly due to the baby's attempt to hold onto one of the mother chicken's chicks.
According to eyewitnesses, the chicken's wings touched the baby, causing it to cry and faint, ultimately leading to its demise.
The incident has left the community in shock, with many questioning the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
As reported by KTN News, the mother's account of the incident is a heart-wrenching one: 'Akitaka kuenda kushika hizo vifaranga na kuku nayo ikaruka, vile iliruka mimi nilikua nimelea mtoto, iyo kuku vile iliruka ilitaka kumgonga, sasa alishtuka wakati iyo mabawa ilimguza kwa uso akaanza kulia.'
