Three Arrested for Allegedly Selling Stolen Vehicles in Meru

On December 27, 2019, detectives from the Flying Squad unit of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) made a significant breakthrough in their efforts to combat motor vehicle theft. The team had been tracking three suspects believed to be involved in the business of selling stolen motor vehicles.

After trailing the suspects to Meru, the detectives were able to apprehend 20-year-old Nicholas Opiyo, a resident of Kariobangi North, 28-year-old Kelvin Oduor Demba from Baba Dogo, and 36-year-old Patrick Mburugu. A vehicle model Toyota Fielder registration KCH 301R was also recovered during the operation.

Meanwhile, in Nairobi, DCI detectives intercepted two motor vehicles with the same registration number. The vehicles are currently being detained pending further investigation.
