On Friday, a dramatic scene unfolded near Falcon Bar along the Eastern by-pass in Nairobi, where a mob attacked and beat up two prison warders.

According to a report filed by the Ruiru Police Station, the incident was reported by John Mwangi, a bodaboda rider, who witnessed the group beating up the duo.

The two victims, identified as Joseph Maina Muriithi and George Gichoni Njuguna, both from the Industrial Area Remand Prison, had arrested and handcuffed an individual who allegedly ran away with the handcuffs and informed other bodaboda operators.

The mob then tracked down the prison warders and subjected them to a brutal beating, leaving them with multiple injuries.

The victims were rushed to Ruiru Sub County and later referred to Thika Level 5 Hospital, where they remain admitted for treatment.
